The Aebasan Orthodoxy's counterpart to the Day of Ash and Oath, the Turning of the Archon celebrates term-limited leadership itself rather than any single officeholder. In most years it is marked with civic oratory contests, games, and public readings from the Book of Pillars honoring Adaptability and Restraint; in whichever year an Archon's twelve-year term actually expires, the holiday instead coincides with the Gallorean Synod's election of a successor at Orestae, and the ordinary festivities give way to the election itself.
