Sonath is spoken primarily by the humans and half-elves of Anclea Scholars believe there is a strong elven influence on the language, which lends it a lyrical quality. No small number of bards on Aurea have composed ballads and songs in Sonath and today the language is something of a common tongue to bards across Aurea.
Sonath is considered one of the Murgosh Tongues and is believed to be descendant from Tangar.
