Aurea
- After the death of their despotic ruler, the Archmage Veseverus, the Medellan tribes fall to infighting amongst themselves as to who will rule the fledgling kingdom. Zetian general Crassus of House Zetar takes advantage of the chaos and finally wins a decisive victory at their capital, Cratari, at the Battle of Denamore. He quickly declares the Medellans subjects of House Zetar, not of the Republic of Zeth, and King Sergius II of Camaria, the Republic's ally in the war, his personal client. The Senate revokes the proclamation later that year, but sends Theodosius of House Livius to rule as Proconsul of the Medellans. Even so, the concept that a King might be personally considered a client of a member of one of the Great Houses takes hold in popular imagination in the Republic, paving the inevitable road towards Empire.
