- King Sergius II of Camaria sends envoys to the Republic of Zeth to request aid against his aggressive neighbors, the Medellans. Though the Senate initially declines his request, a young Senator from House Zetar, Marcus Publius of House Zetar meets with the King and strikes a private bargain to assist him in convincing the Senate to overturn its decision. M. Publius is successful and the Senate commands the standing Defensor Rei Publicae, Crassus of House Zetar, to take the Legions to defend their Camarian allies. Later historians believe that M. Publius convinced Crassus, his uncle, to conquer Medellis in the name of House Zetar, not for the Republic.
