The Bilgehand Syndicate is a fleet of salt-cloaked scavengers, shipwreck sorcerers, and salvage hounds commanded by Warcaptain Dartemis Mull, the Undertow Baron. Unlike most pirate armadas that chase glory in broadside battles, the Syndicate thrives in silence and aftermath, descending like vultures upon shattered hulls and storm-wrecked coves. Their vessels are rust-clad, waterlogged, and eerily quiet—floating grave robbers that speak to the sea and leave no survivors when interrupted.

Doctrine & Culture

Internal Culture

The Syndicate lives by few, unbreakable laws carved into driftwood and nailed to their masts: take only from the drowned or the deserving, no lantern burns in vain, silence during salvage.

Breaking the code is rare, and punishments are cold and creative, ranging from being sealed in a diving bell until madness sets in, to being lashed to wrecks and left to the tides.

Common Practices

The Bilgehand Syndicate wages war like the sea itself: slow, inevitable, and merciless. They don’t just steal treasure, they harvest secrets, corpses, and fear from the deep... and leave behind only silence and the slow churn of the tide.

Symbols, Colors & Insignia

The fleet flag is an yellow field with a black triangle with an emerald green flame in a circle of rope, symbolizing the bone lantern and the noose of the undertow.
