• The Archmage Veseverus, an exile from the wizard community in Zeth, secretly unifies various human tribes to the west of Camaria under his banner as their ruler, founding the Kingdom of Medellis.

• A group of red-haired barbarians known as the Medellans attack a fairly insignificant outpost on Camaria’s western frontier. The Camarians soon retaliate by attacking a township believed to have initiated the raid, but soon realize the Medellans had been unified under an Imperial exiled wizard known as the Archmage Veseverus. War is declared, but Veseverus and his Medellans prove more organized than Camaria had planned for and Camaria soon finds itself outmatched and losing the war.

• King Sergius II of Camaria sends envoys to the Republic of Zeth to request aid against his aggressive neighbors, the Medellans. Though the Senate initially declines his request, a young Senator from House Zetar, Marcus Publius of House Zetar meets with the King and strikes a private bargain to assist him in convincing the Senate to overturn its decision. M. Publius is successful and the Senate commands the standing Defensor Rei Publicae, Crassus of House Zetar, to take the Legions to defend their Camarian allies. Later historians believe that M. Publius convinced Crassus, his uncle, to conquer Medellis in the name of House Zetar, not for the Republic.

• Aescalapean ships first arrive at Zeth to trade goods from the barbarian north.

• After victory of the Medellans in the Battle of Denamore, the victorious Zetian general Crassus of House Zetar delares Medellans subject to House Zetar and their ally, the Camarian King Sergius II his personal client. The Zetian Senate revokes the proclamation later that year, but the concept that a King might be personally considered a client of a member of one of the Great Houses takes hold in popular imagination in the Republic, paving the inevitable road towards Empire.

• The War of the Golden Coast begins when an Aescalapean pirate vessel attacking Zetian merchant vessels is discovered to be lead by an Aescalapean nobleman.

• During the War of the Golden Coast, Zeth is blockaded by the powerful Aescalapean navy. The blockade is recalled as Zetian infantry arrive in Aescalapea via Ganesia.

• The War of the Golden Coast ends as the Aescalapean city of Dracar is sacked by Zetian troops. The Aescalapean royal palace in Dracar is dismantled and its stones used to build a temple to Galea. House Gabinius is given oversight of the newly-founded Zetian colony.
