Like Polydorus, God of Wild Beasts, Ruminus despises mankind and seeks its destruction. His most dire enemy is Laestrygones, God of Health, though most of his enemies actively hunt down his clergymen and kill them wherever found. Thus, the clergy of Ruminus tends to be extremely small and his direct worshippers even fewer. Even so, most people will attempt to propitiate Ruminus in times of plague or disease.
Ruminus’ interest in medicine extends only so far as to extend the lifespan of the afflicted, not cure their ailments. The belief is that one who has a highly communicable disease should live long enough to spread the disease to as many people as possible.
